Another person known as Baby Matthias Ng was spotted at the scene. Baby Matthias Ng was said to be in hysteric when the police arrived. He was found screaming and crying in the cot.
According to the police, Baby Matthias Ng was heard blabbering in baby language just minutes before Mr Smiley was found dead. The police have not been able to ascertain if Baby Matthias Ng was talking to Mr Smiley then. Shortly after which, a loud thud was heard followed with Baby Matthias Ng's cries. It was believed that Mr Smiley hit the baby monitor first before landing on the stool. The baby monitor was found toppled over on the floor not far from the body.
The police has also indicated that Mr Smiley could not have committed suicide and was likely thrown out of the cot as Mr Smiley has been incapacitated for months since his batteries ran out and have not been replaced since then.
Baby Matthias Ng has been brought in by the police to assist in their investigation.
The case has been classified as unnatural death.
