Toddling Toddler

We were all exhilarated last evening when Matty finally decided that it was high time he started walking independently. The precious moment has finally arrived on the day when Matty turns 1 year, 2 months and 26 days old! A little later than expected… since he has always been a fore-runner in terms of gross motor skills since a newborn.

It was magical to see him actually running about in less than an hour later. Now I fully understand why mummies who have experienced the moment kept saying that it can happen anytime without you knowing and progresses faster than anyone can imagine.

Matty’s facial expression was a clear indication of just how proud he was of himself for hitting this major milestone of his life. He was equally as excited as everyone else with his new-found “freedom” and independence. We are sure that he will put it to good use (or should we say “exploit”) in the days to come.

Our little baby has now grown to be a toddling toddler in that magical split-second!
